| Welcome to The Hall! If you're here, I'll go out on a limb and say that either you're a writer, or you'd like to be one. And if that's the case, I have great advice for you: Don't do it. Turn back now before it's too late. Are you still here? Okay, so you're determined...that's perfect. If you're going to write--and actually try to get your work published--determination is one of the most important things you'll need. Here's a quick checklist of everything else writers must have: * A computer (sure, you can use pen and paper... but if you're visiting my site then you must already have access to this particular requirement). * English and grammar skills. Yes, really. Need a refresher? Take a free course from Barnes & Noble. * A story (or two, or three, or a hundred) to tell. * Thick skin to shake off all those rejections...or a really good shoulder to cry on. Or both. * Willingness to apply yourself continuously to learning your craft. * A healthy dose of insanity. * The ability to laugh at yourself. * At least one pet or inanimate object who doesn't mind the sound of your voice when you start talking to yourself. * Coffee. Gallons of coffee. So...got all that? Good!
