| Where do you get your ideas?
From the voices in my head, naturally. Why are you a "professional freak"? Normal people do not decide to become writers. It's a tough gig, the pay sucks, and the hours are killer. There is no control or job security. I write for a living; ergo, my freak status is official. Can I write fan fiction based on your characters? Sure, knock yourself out. Fan fiction can be a good way to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of writing. However, if you are an aspiring writer yourself, I insist that you spend at least 99 percent of your time developing your own work. Use your talent to hone your voice! I am an aspiring writer. Will you read and critique my work? Well... to be honest, I'd like to, but my time is extremely limited these days. If you're looking for feedback on your writing, you might be interested in joining a good online critique group. There are a number of excellent groups, such as Deadly Prose, Mike's Writing Workshop, Critters Workshop (for fantasy, sci-fi and horror), and Critique Circle with free memberships and diverse groups of writers who enjoy helping each other out. Where do you live, and what does your house look like? I live in a remote area far from civilization. My house is underground, and each room contains an assortment of uncomfortable furniture and chains along with other interesting devices. Should you decide to visit and hear unusual sounds coming from inside, do not bother knocking. Can you speak Japanese? Hai, sukoshi. Demo, mada jozu j'arimasen. Where can I get your books? Broken Angel, the first book in the House Phoenix series, is slated for release from LBF Books in April 2009. Characters in novels are based on people. Are you Jenner? No. Who is Jenner, then? Jenner is himself. And he is insulted that you would pose such a question. If I were you, I would run now. What else do you do, besides write? I usually breathe. Sometimes I eat. I drink coffee—enough so I don't need sleep. Sleep detracts from my writing time, and I have deadlines to meet. How can I find more time to write? Give up sleeping. Or, block out a specific time that you WILL write, every single day. No excuses. Or, you can do both -- give up sleeping, and write instead. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * |
